The BASETA Adventure is an educational game focused on traffic safety, designed to simulate proper driving practices and the AVIS (Audio Visual Integrated System) theory test that is part of the driver’s license issuance process overseen by the Indonesian National Police.

This engaging and enjoyable game provides insights into driving regulations, understanding traffic signs, and most importantly, allows players to familiarize themselves with the questions associated with the AVIS theory test, applicable for both SIM C (for two-wheeled vehicles) and SIM A (for four-wheeled vehicles). BASETA, represented by a clown icon created by the Jepara Police, is dedicated to informing and educating road users about traffic regulations from an early age. The name BASETA itself is an acronym for Badut Keselamatan Berlalu Lintas, or Traffic Safety Clown.

In the BASETA Adventure Educational Game, each player embarks on a mission to accumulate points. Correct answers yield additional points (+), while infractions incur point deductions (-). The evaluation criteria in this game include:

• (1) Speed of response;
• (2) Adherence to traffic signs;
• (3) Agility in avoiding obstacles and preventing traffic accidents.

Players can compete for higher scores, which are displayed at the end of each stage. Players can also view friends' scores on their Google+ circle.

Frequent engagement with this game exposes players to a plethora of AVIS theory questions (over 500 in total) that are randomly generated, all integrated directly with the Korlantas Polri system. This not only bolsters knowledge but also enhances preparedness for the AVIS theory test. Increased awareness of traffic regulations can significantly reduce the risk of violations and road accidents.

About the Creators

The developers of the Educational Game BASETA Adventure are part of the Traffic Unit of Jepara Police, created in collaboration with an expert team. With support and guidance from both Central Java's regional police and various stakeholders, this game aims to improve knowledge and understanding of proper and safe driving practices while enhancing confidence during the AVIS theory test.
